Let new members in before they verify their email

You can now let new members straight into your community on their first login, and have them confirm their email after they're in. Turn on Delay email verification for new members and a new member lands inside the moment they finish signing up.

Communities with this setting on saw 10% more new members log in on their first day.

How it works

Find it under Settings → Community → Member defaults. It's off by default.

• A new member types their email and lands inside. We email them a link to confirm it.

• A banner reminds them to confirm for the next 7 days.

• After 7 days, their session expires and they’re asked to log in with a code to confirm their email.

• Until they confirm, admins see an Unverified badge next to their name in the community.

Invited admins and moderators still must verify on their first login. Read more in the Help Center.
