💻 Better use of space in posts/pop-ups (Desktop)
Adrian Rodriguez
I have posts with several paragraphs that are really not that long, but seems infinite to read because of how the post/pop-up is shown when opened (a tight white column), which looks great when the post is short, but creates this problem when it's a longer post.
🤔 What do you think about widening this window a little? It seems that the rest of social media platforms do it this way.
Unconsciously (and perhaps on purpose), the current layout invites you to limit your words and create short posts. And this is fine for platforms like Twitter/X. But within a community I think this change can motivate users to write longer and more meaningful posts.
Let's go, Heartbeat! 👏🏼

Excellent idea and demonstration. I agree.

Agree, the desktop UI layout has lots of wasted space and could easily be improved. The narrow 500 pixel popup box for creating and editing threads is even worse than the 800 pixel width used to display them. On a standard 1080p screen, this could be as wide as 1270 pixels without obscuring any of the side menus.

Sounds like a sensible proposal. Gets my vote.
