docs as blog
Charlotte Salvanes
Hello,
one of the reason i moved to heartbeat was to developp in near future a place where my courses and my community would be reunited. I would love to be able to publish articles in a blog way to avoid keeping my blog. the doc section is great but for those who write many articles it's just impossible to link them all in the menu. i could create posts instead of docs and link them to my docs but i need them to be seo friendly and public;-. is there a way to create floating "articles", seo and public , that would be linked from my docs and posted also in my my thread as a "new" . there is no emergency here but i would really like one place only to communicate with my audiance.

I'm interested in this too. What I did for the meantime is create a subscription specific thread/channel that acts as a blog. It's not SEO searchable, but it is working as a way to share content sort of like a blog. I have separate ones for separate topics.

Would organizing your articles in a course work? Instead of creating a long side bar of help articles/docs, I just created an orientation course where they could easily go to the one thing they need help with and read the info with screenshots and/or watch the video. I think adding public blogging functionality would start stretching the platform beyond what it was made for and not be as effective as an actual blogging platform.

Antonisha Polite Peoples: it's true that every platform is specialized and i dont expect Heartbeat to become an expert blog. But still it seems just absurd to have a blog on one side and a community on the other. the whole idea is to share content right ? This would be easily fixed if we could embed notion databases. In this case, people would find very easily the content they are looking for.

Charlotte Salvanes: I'm not 100% but check in the Hearth about embedding Notion databases. I don't use Notion or know a lot about it but I thought when I bought a template pack from Misty Dorman - Heartbeat Team she gave an option for the docs to embed the Notion template in your community. I manually set up mine because I don't use Notion but it might be worth exploring what options you have with it.
Charlotte Salvanes
Antonisha Polite Peoples: yes it's possible to embed notion docs but notion databases : )

Charlotte Salvanes: ahh gotcha. Hopefully some future updates will provide an option that works for you.

I am just starting a community and can already see how limited Docs are because you can really only have so many before they defeat their purpose of being resources. I personally have another site I use as the home page for my community, and can blog there. But if we had a way to make a nice looking home page and blog inside of Heartbeat, I wouldn't need this external option.
