With workflows, you can now fully automate member actions within Heartbeat! Auto-send emails, DMs, show pop-ups & much more based on member actions in your community.
To get started, go to Settings > Workflows!

would also like to add removing a pre-approved invitation link when someone is added to a specific group.
Use case: Membership program with payment taken by a 3rd party. The zap to invite someone to the platform creates a pre-approved invitation link which is great.
But there's no way to remove them from that list after they've canceled their membership.
I can remove them from the group, but their original invite link will allow them to rejoin and bypass payment.
If I could at least add them to a "canceled group" (I don't want to remove them completely) then remove the invitation link in that workflow. Would be happy to do it through a zap too. Something like revoke invitation.
This and lack of protected event links are non negotiable

Added a new request a trigger for this feature: https://heartbeat.canny.io/feature-requests/p/add-on-login-as-a-trigger-for-automated-workflows

For your inspiration

HB Team, this recently launched on PH and while I am not willing to pay another solution, I am VERY confident, you'd want to let the platform inspire you regarding automations.
They are pretty early stage and strive to bridge issues most if not all SaaS Community Platform still has. While you share many features, their UI simply makes so much more sense

I'd love the idea you ditch "integrations", "onboarding setup", ... and simply have an automation menu allowing to select templates (e.g. "new user onboarding", "paid group direct signup welcome", "inactive user ping/DM", ...).
MUCH cleaner. More intuitive and we could built/share templates accross the HB community admins as well maybe...

Native automation workflows within HB
Jeroen (CTO 👨💻)
Would allow HB community builders to natively build workflows within HB (like they do with Zapier now).
Eg.
- trigger their email sequences
- add user in HB when they created an acocunt on your main website
- add user to group when they purchased a course on gumroad
- etc. etc.
A license with N8N to whitelabel their infrastructure and embed straight into HB starts at 50.000 a year.

Murtaza Bambot Mayhul Arora just to bring to your attention as I think this is something really interesting to consider. Could be the backbone for people to build out 50% of features requests on their own and on-demand (while keeping ofc the Heartbeat templates based on community best practices)
The GsA
Jeroen (CTO 👨💻): Why create a new email marketing platform inside of Heartbeat rather than focusing on good integration with the platforms people are already using?
We can already hook Heartbeat up to ClickHubs, or Keap, or ActiveCampaign, etc. All you need is a more complete selection of webhooks and API endpoints to round out the full functionality we need for marketing automations.
Ed Ferrigan
The GsA: Watch the video. Its not just about emails.
The GsA
Ed Ferrigan: Can you please just describe what you're asking for here — I really don't like to spend my time scrubbing through videos searching for the thing a person is trying to communicate.
Jeroen (CTO 👨💻)
The GsA: Understand your view as someone that likes/can build it themselves if we have a AAA+ heartbeat API. All for that myself. But from the perspective of user-acquisition for Heartbeat, which are all about the premise of accessibility, this would be a great selling point (also considering others now starting to offer this).
Also, Marketing automations are just one aspect of it. This would open the way for advanced gamification of the community in a easy way.

I tried to create an automation in Zapier to send a DM welcome message to new members, but it's not working.
It would be great to automate this type of actions inside of Heartbeat! (do "this" when "that" happens").
