Ability to create a parent category for all categories and channels sharing the same subject

Some of us have different channel categories on a same topic. When adding a new topic with new categories it becomes a hustle for admins as the list of channels and categories gets long. Would be nice if we could condense categories of the same topic under one parent category. Be able to show or hide the content as we scroll through different programs we are running on heartbeat.
