Activity Feed - don't show comments from every post

I'm seeing post replies in the activity feed for posts I never engaged with. Since the original post also shows up in the activity feed and the replies on posts I commented on show up in the Notifications, I don't need to see every comment for posts I'm not following. This can very quickly clog up the list & overwhelm our users.
