Add support for username + password

So many comments asking for this. Keep Magic Link as an alternative, however, please add Username/Password.

"Can we not have the ability to use a simple username/password login?"

Yes please. It's very silly that we can't do this.

Please add this! Can't stand Magic Link - many that I work with can't stand it either. While Magic Link sounds like a great thing, it is just a royal pain!

Magic links are awful. Please move to traditional login methods and add SSO options. The is one of the major reasons why I have not moved my community to Heartbeat yet.

Magic link stuff is never really reliable, when I was registering the first time I thought I made a mess. I don't like the magic link and stopped using apps that work with magic link - always. Still pondering on heartbeat as it looks to have the potential to be something really great when some stuff are taken care off - at first glance

Adding my voice here because this is creating real friction for members.

While magic links are well-intentioned, in practice they are a major barrier, especially for:

    • members who don’t receive the email (or it’s delayed/filtered)

    • members using shared devices, work devices, or tablets

    • members who don’t have email access on the device they’re using

    • less tech-savvy or older audiences

From a community owner perspective, this is often the first experience a new member has - and when login fails, many simply don’t continue. I’m confident this has directly contributed to lost members and increased support requests.

Even retaining magic links as an optional method, while adding username/password, would dramatically reduce friction and improve onboarding, retention, and trust.

This has been requested consistently for years, and it genuinely feels like a critical UX and growth issue rather than a “nice to have.” I really hope it can be prioritised.

This is so troublesome as we launch our new community. People aren't getting the magic links in their inbox or spam folders and they're unable to join. Username + Password would avoid all of this and a messy first experience with this platform and my community!

PLEASE HELP! I am literally about to lose members over this. It's so frustrating that I can't get them any answers on how to stop it. Can anyone at least help with that to say when someone asks?

Does anyone know if this is different on other platforms like Circle? I just started adding people and this seems like a major block and an extra step to send them an email to remind them to download the app / login.
