Here's an example for how it appears to be done on Circle. All of the free public content is visible & there are "log in" and "sign up" buttons in the upper right corner. It would be nice to do something similar & be able to decide what's visible to those who aren't logged in.

I would TOTALLY agree! We can try to create our own landing page using the other tools, but wouldn't it be great if we could do it right from Heartbeat with a simple template?

I am not sure how the landing page in Mighty Networks looks though.
It will be utterly helpful to have the overview as an landing page in the Mobile app. (The page you land on when you press the 3 horizontal bars in the top left corner when on current landing page in the Mobile App)
When new members log in, they would immediately see the threads and the icons on the bottom of the screen. The app would make more sense to everyone right away. It will help growing our community. It will also help people navigate and like the platform right away.
To have a thread as a landing page causes a lot of confusion for new members, and a lot of work, moving posts to the correct thread and explaining, for the admins.

This is one of the most important missing features, IMHO.
Yes this is absolutely essential. People need to see the page before they make an account for it. Nobody is going to create an account on a website they've never seen…. thats just stupid. HUGE IMPEDIMENT!!! New users need to see the entire page not just a preview. Browse the page all they like, just like a fourm! Then when they want to post they register / login. I see this as essential. It needs to be an option.

Zac : I think it'll need to be something where we choose what we want seen in a preview. In my community, I have threads & docs that are fine for public view & others that are private to only certain groups.
