Currently it's set to where the community owner chooses the landing thread. I think if this were to be implemented, it would have to be a toggle where the community admin/owner could decide if they want members to have a choice for where to land. For those wanting to increase engagement on a certain channel or have them land on an announcement channel, they may not want members changing it.
