Disable ability for Users to tag everyone

Users should not be able to tag @everyone, causing notifications to go out to all. I also think they probably shouldn't be able to tag an entire group of people. They should only be able to tag other users.

I've seen people requesting more granularity where we could give mods permission to tag everyone. Maybe we should keep this open until that's added?

Hi there ! I totally get your point ! However, in my community, I would really need users to be able to tag an entire group of people. Maybe in the futur this could be an optional feature, which the admin chooses to enable or not for community members?

Lucile Brenier: Try it out… as a test user. In my community it is working with created groups. ✨

This was resolved a while back. Only admins can tag @everyone now. I believe more granularity will be added in the future so community admins can define by user role.

Misty Dorman - Heartbeat Team i don't think admins can tag everyone anymore. i wasn't able to. is there a way to do this? i have specific groups that i could individually tag, but i'd prefer to tag everyone if that's still possible. thanks

actually, it seems the workaround is to tag @user which includes pretty much everyone except the admins. is this right?

I really need this to be on. We have a storytelling community. And when someone writes a brand story we want our users to be able to tag their story as a brand story and notify the other brand story group members to see this story in the sea of other stories.
Is there another way to do this? Maybe hashtags or keywords users can follow? Mayhul Arora 🤷🏾‍♀️

Enrika Greathouse: I believe Mayhul will be adding some more granularity to this. For now though, I think it would work for you to just have them use a specific keyword that other users could use the search bar & search on. For example, applestory or cherrystory. No hashtag needed. Alternatively, you could have different channels for different story types (if you know what they are) & have people post to those various channels.

Bianca Blanco I think this was completed this week.

I agree - this should be an admin only feature within channels.

    Definitely agree with this!
Murtaza Bambot and Mayhul Arora, can you say whether this is being planned?

Totally agree Misty… This will get out of hand very quickly once someone posts the hack to @everyone & then makes a JVZoo & Warrior+ product about it. :)
