Excerpt long posts and add read more button
Long posts take up A LOT of space on threads, especially on mobile. Can we please shorten them (like on FB for example) and show only the first few sentences and then add a read more button?

This would also be good for courses, course modules, and "Get Started" doc areas - where we showcase a few docs, card style like you can do in Circle.

absolutely - this is a must for a great onboarding experience. An area they land in when they first arrive so we can do a welcome video, tour, banner etc - like Circle which I think did really well.

And the ability to link to sales pages for the courses/products they don't have access to.

I would go further and give threads a title (or use first x characters), and have a view option that shows all threads collapsed and only title, author, post count, thread date and recent post date. That would make rapid scrolling easy on all devices.

Agreed- also when they “tab in” It makes them even longer and harder to scroll past.

Definitely +1 ~ As simple as this may seem, this issue is actually one of my biggest concerns about launching and bringing people into my community: Specifically, I'm concerned the long posts are going to create visual and mental overwhelm.
This is especially important for communities providing private coaching/mentoring support to people who are already dealing with anxiety, stress and overwhelm.
Thanks for the great suggestion, Tuija Maria
