Home page with the list of all posts

I would like to have a "Home page" where all the posts of all categories are listed on a preview mode (+ a "read more" button). When a user connects to the community, this Home page is the default view, so that the user can see all the new posts.

    Same… I called it a "Latest" feed
A collect all feeds/channels of the latest posts that have happened in the channels i'm part of or are public.
It would be great to be able to scroll through and see what I missed rather than needing to jump from one channel to another to catch up.

Yvonne Heimann: Yes, that's exactly what I'd like to have too! A couple of my members already asked that to me.

Yvonne Heimann: this is a great idea! One button that shows you all the updated info… right now we have to choose one thread which is less than ideal.

This would seem standard on many platforms and helps to engage people in conversations they may not necessarily see (from groups not signed up with. ) Admins should still have the ability to "pin" the topmost post to the Homepage.

Steve Hearn: yup! Having to search for the latest, most interesting post is less than ideal… I wouldn’t do it. Heck, I don’t do it in ❤️ Of Community 😄

Yes to this! Also see this request for the same thing: https://heartbeat.canny.io/feature-requests/p/algorithmic-main-page-user-feed

I primarily use desktop…will this be a quick add to desktop after mobile or are we talking months? In my own community I find it hard to see what people are engaging in as I use desktop to check it.

Absolutely agreed. A central "Feed" with the "latest" and/or "top" posts across any threads that a member is a part of will be extremely useful to avoid missing out or constantly switching between threads.

People are already accustomed to this from most Social Media newsfeeds and our members would welcome it and beyond able to scroll in one place.

Really hoping this can be implemented soon. Thanks Heartbeat!

I would love this idea. Similar to how Circle App has it.
Thank you and have a Fantastic Day! 🙂

I would love for this "home page" to also have a list of channels across the top & to be able to have a custom image for each channel. I want to be able to make my channel well-branded to my personality. I believe Mighty Networks has something like this. I grabbed a screen shot of someone's from a YT video & the page was called "Discovery". I'm attaching.

Misty Dorman: this idea is cool! I do think HB need to be careful with making the first page too convoluted. I get nervous when we say, “like Mighty Networks” - My members didn’t like Mighty because it was “too much” up front visually: channels across the top, and the exact same channels to the side, featured topics, featured posts, events, courses… oh my! And that was just above the fold! 🤪Many of them used the phrase “learning curve”… death nail for any software trying to replace something easy like FB. I think a button at the top of channels that could take someone to a page with channel images would be cool!

Dr. Lynyetta Willis: I think maybe having the home page customizable per community would be cool in that regard. That way people can toggle on and off what they want to have shown on their home page for their community and the order in which they want in shown. For example maybe I want latest posts to be shown first and then a section of courses tabs next. But maybe you only want latest posts shown for your community home page.

Jelilat Williams: oooh! Brilliant! Yes. I think this is where Mighty slips a bit. In trying to appease everyone with showing so much on the homepage, they confuse folks…lol. If we could choose what appears that would so helpful. Reminds me of project management systems like SuiteDash and Plutio… or email marketing systems like VBout . I can choose what data I see when I log in - customizable homepage.

Can the read more three dots come sooner - ie after fewer words? On the mobile each post is previewed now BUT it takes up almost the whole screen and my members say its overwhelming. If the preview was shorter it would help.
