Landscape and Side By Side Views

I'm getting complaints from tablet users that the app doesn't shift to landscape from portrait view when the tablet is on its side to use a keyboard with it.

I'm also hearing that there's no option for side by side viewing, such as seeing the app next to a pdf on a tablet in landscape, which apparently many apps allow for.
