Limit invitation link signups

I'd like to limit the number of users who can signup via a specific intivation link, whether paid or free.
Example: I send out an invitation link to my list, but only 25 members can join for this cohort.

Extremely important! Especially if you promote an event publicly.

This is an absloute feature! I also want to limit to one, I want to choose who joins.

Yes, a one time invite link for:
    a) single use only
    b) option for personal links (only to be used by the person it's sent to). There is a use case in the example below where a user is created in part for full registration using (a) and (b) personal use only option.
    c) option for time limiting options from e.g. 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 4 weeks, etc to forever lasting.
(for the same reason as above… in that an invite link can be shared and uninvited people can join).
Also, an ability to send such (a) single use, with options (b) and (c) to Heartbeat through the API and email… here's a use case:
I have a course and membership system in WordPress and I can send dynamic external webhooks on new account registrations, and when specific content is accessed. It would be very useful to send an invite link specifically to the specific user on account creation or on access to specific content, to join specific Heartbeat group(s) related to their general account registration on WordPress (e.g. a general chat group) and related to what they accessed on WordPress (e.g. course A, content B) and for only them to be able to use it so their access on the WordPress website is in sync to what group they are accessing in Heartbeat (i.e. course A group, content B group).
