Links open in new tab

Feature Requests

When you click on a link in a course it would be very convenient when that link can open in a new screen/tab so the student does not leave the course.

    External links on browser desktop currently open within the same tab that Heartbeat is on. This negatively affects community conversion and engagement.

    Please make only external links open in new tabs (keeping internal links opening within Heartbeat is important for sure).

    For example, if I link a video on YouTube, and a community user clicks on it, it should open a new tab, not replace and erase their community presence.

    We want to keep them coming back to the community, and keeping the tab open is part of that. :)

    We'd need to be able to choose it as an option because if we're just linking to a thread or doc, we'd want it in the same tab.

      Misty Dorman they can change the code in the application to open only external links in a new tab though, which is great for conversion. Keeping the original tab in our community open keeps them engaged :)

      This might be a challenge to do with custom domains though, but something they should look at ASAP
