When a person enters into the portal, I would love for them to first see a beautiful graphic dashboard that shows them things like: number of post they've made, comments, participation, etc. This is highly motivational for people and gives them a sense of satisfaction they are optimally "belonging" in the group.

    Great idea, Ed! There could also be information about the community activity since their last login ("Channel X had 5 posts, and the post XYZ boomed, with 20 replies so far. Do you want to check it out?")
