Notifications for DMS similar to messenger

Our team is trying to streamline things - and get away from communication on messenger - but we are ALL missing DMS from each other and clients because of all the notifications - yes it's important to see the low level notifications but the DMS are SO important to see immediately- I need a specific pop up alert for DMS to not get missed please!!
