I can see this being helpful for giveaway posts where you're asking for comments, then need to shut it off. I've had new people commenting on my pinned post instead of posting to the channel. I'd love to prevent that.

Totally agree! There are lots of examples of pages that I wouldn't want comments, and it just looks weird to even have them there.

Especially for Pinned posts used as banner art or channel instructions. New members seem to comment under that frequently, and I have to re-post for them as we cannot migrate comments (only posts)

As I read through the comments, I see this has been clearly desired for many months … this simple feature would be SO DANG HELPFUL for keeping my community ORGANIZED and ENGAGED … otherwise, conversations get spread out and it waters down the community feel.
