Skipping optional content in Courses

When a course has a mix of required and optional assignments, the "Pick up

where you left off" feature always returns students to the first incomplete

lesson, even if they intentionally skipped it.

I want an option that allows students to immediately skip to required content whilst keeping the optional content in my course curriculum.
