Both original and new desktop layouts have an excess of blank space when viewed full screen on a 1080p monitor. It almost seems that layout on a standard 1080p desktop monitor has never been considered.
On 1080p there is plenty of space to display the original wider member list sidebar, showing names as well as profile pictures (which are often difficult to recognise), could that be an option?
Also the 'trending' + 'next event' boxes, that were at the top of that right hand sidebar in an optional carousel, are now mandatory cards at the top of the channel and why the threads are off center in the space when you scroll down. Could these be made optional again please.
