Courses: Public assignment link to a specific post

Currently when you mark an assignment public in a course it links to a specific channel where the member creates a new post. I would love to link to a specific thread in a channel to allow all members to comment about each assignment in one post instead of multiple posts. My lessons are daily so that's a lot of clutter in the thread if each person posted a new post for each assignment.
