Turn Off Comments For Individual Threads

I find that a lot of new members go to my "Intros" channel and, rather than looking to the top of the page to start a thread, they comment on the pinned post.

It made me think that the ability to turn off comments on any individual thread would be very useful (also for moderation if a discussion gets heated)
